The Republic of Yemen was keen to submit its national report to the Rio + 20 Earth Summit, seizing the opportunity to reaffirm its full partnership with the international system in its noble endeavors for a better world in which all mankind enjoys security, peace, prosperity, justice and sustainable development.

 The Republic of Yemen has affirmed its full political commitment to its commitments to work with the international community to achieve sustainable development, looking forward at the same time to the support of the international community for its efforts to achieve high and sustainable development rates that would enable it to catch up with global progress and actively contribute to the march of human civilization.

The Republic of Yemen participated with the world in the Rio +20 conference and prepared its national report despite the difficult economic, security and institutional conditions, but it was an opportunity to show the international system that it is a partner within the system and that it will fulfill all its obligations and commitments towards the international community.

Based on that commitment, the Ministry of Water and Environment - Public Authority for Environmental Protection formed a national committee to prepare for the Rio +20 Sustainable Development Conference with the participation of governmental and non-governmental agencies. A number of meetings were held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Water and Environment, followed by a series of meetings with relevant authorities and specialists from The consultants charged with preparing the report and the results were reviewed through a workshop that all parties were invited to. The workshop came out with important recommendations and all the observations and recommendations were absorbed, after which the initial draft was returned
