Side event: "The Multi-Year Plan of Action for South-South Cooperation on Biodiversity for Development"

Mr. ABDULLAH ALSAIDI,  Chair of the group of 77 and China, and the host country opened the side event on 22 October 2010, at the margins of COP 10 in Nagoya, Japan, side events hold on the “Multi-Year Plan of Action for South-South Cooperation on Biodiversity for Development”.

This event   co-organized by the CBD Secretariat, the G-77 Secretariat and Yemen as the Chair of the G-77.

The main objectives of this side event were  to, following the submission of an elaborated Multi-Year Plan of Action for South-South Cooperation on Biodiversity for Development to COP 10 under agenda item 4.9, by Yemen on behalf of the G-77, provide Parties, regional agencies, relevant organizations and SSC partners with an opportunity to present examples of best practices of South-South and triangular cooperation on biodiversity, and  discussed  the way forward to strengthen this cooperation in the CBD.
